Job summary

Quanta Services, Inc. is looking for an Apprentice in Flowood, Mississippi, focused on energized secondary work under direct supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with de-energized transformer connections and using bucket trucks for various tasks. Qualifications

About this Role

Step two will introduce the Apprentice to energized secondary work, de‑energized primary framing, and bucket truck operation. Step two Apprentice may perform energized secondary work (up to 480 Volts) while being directly supervised by a Lineman or Foreman. The person supervising must be at the same physical location as the Apprentice (on the pole with or in the bucket with/adjacent to). Step two Apprentice may not be within reach or extended reach of the minimum approach distance of any energized primary conductor or equipment while working aloft.

  • Assisting lineman with de‑energized transformer connections.
  • Work from pole or bucket.
  • Test de‑energized primary lines, tag, and apply protective grounds.
  • De‑energized primary framing and hardware installation.
  • Hanging crossarms from the pole de‑energize circuits.
  • Drilling and fastening with impact (hydraulic) tools.
  • Using hand powered crimping tools.
