Job summary

Consolidated Engineering Laboratories, based in San Ramon, CA, seeks an A1 Special Apprentice Inspector to join our team. You will support field inspections, interpret blueprints, and prepare material samples in accordance with project requirements.

You’ll travel to job sites, lift up to 50 pounds, and may work weekends. Strong communication and daily reporting are required to succeed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to work weekends and overtime occasionally.
• Must have strong communications skills and mobile device proficiency.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and project instructions.
• Ability to write daily reports and maintain accurate field records.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; background check required.
• Follow construction safety precautions and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ensure services are performed per project requirements and client contract.
• Ensure procedures and materials conform to contract documents and codes.
• Examine finished work for compliance with regulations.
• Prepare samples of approved/unapproved materials for testing.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Perform calculations related to inspection needs.
• Write daily field reports.
