Job summary

Multi-Craft Contractors, Inc. is seeking helpers/apprentices to support our industrial and commercial construction projects. The role involves assisting on site, preparing work areas, and supplying materials for tradespeople.

You will learn by doing, with potential participation in a four-year apprenticeship as required by local regulations. We value safety, reliability, and willingness to learn; opportunities include exposure to heavy equipment, consistent work, and a path toward skilled crafts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Willingness to pursue a four-year apprenticeship through an accredited program if required by state/city.
• Familiarity with traditional building materials, practices, and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist on the job site; duties depend on trade.
• Prepare and clean construction sites.
• Gather materials needed for workers on site.
• Assist in building structures using heavy equipment and machinery.
• Unload/load materials and read plans and specifications.
• Transport tools and equipment to the work area.
• Identify, set up, and operate hand and power tools and equipment.
• Clean, maintain, and service equipment and tools.

Essential Duties

• Provide assistance on the job; specific duties will depend on your trade.
• Prepare and clean construction sites.
• Gather materials needed for workers on the job site.
• Assist in building structures for business and construction sites requiring the use of heavy equipment and machinery.
• Unload and load materials, read plans and specifications.
• Transport tools and equipment to work area.
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools and equipment.
• Clean, maintain, and service equipment and tools.

Depending on the state/city requirements, you may be required to actively pursue a four‑year apprenticeship through an accredited program while gaining field experience. Apprentices will participate in trade specific installations and tasks with the Journeyman/Supervisor.

Education & Training

• High school diploma or equivalent, required

Skills & Experience

• Working knowledge of the following:
  • Understanding of traditional building materials, practices, and techniques.
  • Machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Must be able to monitor gauges, dials, or other indications to make sure a machine is working properly.
