Skillforce is hiring Apprentice HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanics for commercial projects in the Nashville and Memphis, TN areas. This role involves assisting with the fabrication and installation of HVAC ductwork and sheet metal components alongside experienced technicians to ensure high-quality installations and reliable system performance.

Candidates should have 2+ years of commercial sheet metal experience, own PPE and hand tools, and the ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.

Qualifications

• 2 or more years of commercial sheet metal experience required.
• Experience with commercial HVAC ductwork installation and sheet metal fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
• Must have your own PPE and required hand tools.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, and install HVAC duct systems and sheet metal components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and layout plans.
• Cut, shape, join, and assemble sheet metal using hand and power tools while ensuring precise fabrication and alignment.
• Install commercial ductwork, including rectangular and spiral systems, along with hangers, supports, and accessories.
• Hang ductwork and install VAVs, RTUs, diffusers, registers, dampers, and flexible components.
• Seal duct systems and ensure proper alignment and quality standards.
• Accurately measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal materials.
• Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
