Job summary

Capstone Mechanical, LP. is seeking a Service Apprentice to support HVACR service for industrial and commercial customers in Texas.

You will work under the Area Service Manager and assist in diagnosing and executing service tasks with professional communication to customers, suppliers, and Capstone staff. Qualifications

• High school diploma or enrolled in a two+ year HVACR program.
• Ability to read and apply manufacturers' instructions and communicate clearly with customers and teammates.
• Physical capability to perform duties under varied conditions.
• Initiative to advance HVACR skills through training and workshops.
• Current Texas driver license and insurability for company vehicle use.
• EPA card and valid TDLR/TDLR card compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in HVACR servicing jobs promptly and with direct oversight when needed.
• Perform routine HVACR service activities under supervision or on-site.
• Assist with installation, inspection, maintenance, and repairs of refrigeration equipment.
• Assist on brazing, soldering, and charging/refrigerant level checks.
• Support pre-start up checks and equipment adjustments.

Job description

The Service Apprentice reports to the Area Service Manager and is responsible for assisting in a range of refrigeration/HVAC jobs for industrial and commercial customers.

Customer-based activities involved in this position require an individual who is decisive, tactful, dependable, and who possesses initiative and the ability to communicate well with all customer groups. The Service Apprentice must be able to assist in accurately diagnosing and efficiently accomplish a job to the mutual benefit of the customer and Capstone Mechanical. Job-related contact can occur with virtually all demographic groups, with most of the contacts being service customers, other Capstone Mechanical technicians, the Area Service Manager, and the Field Service Coordinator.

Summary of Duties:

• Serving as a member of the Service Department team which is organized to conduct HVACR servicing jobs promptly and
• Performing routine HVACR service activities with direct oversight or on-site assistance.
• Performing related duties as directed by the Area Service
• Assist in installation, inspection, maintenance, and repairs of refrigeration
• Assist on installs and troubleshooting of specialized refrigeration equipment and
• Assist in brazing and soldering of refrigerant lines.

Job Qualifications:

• High school graduate and or be enrolled in a post-secondary HVACR program of instruction of two or more years in
• Good verbal and reading skills, including the ability to read and apply manufacturers' instructions and to clearly communicate with commercial customers, suppliers, and other Capstone Mechanical employees.
• Physical ability to perform all duties noted above under the conditions, circumstances, and extreme weather conditions found in
• Interest and initiative in maintaining and advancing his or her HVACR skills through a combination of self-study, company training, manufacturers' workshops, and other professional development
• Current Texas operator's license and the ability to operate all vehicles in the corporate fleet within 30 days of initial employment. Incumbent must be insurable by current Capstone Mechanical insurance
• Ability to work under pressures of time, a non-standard schedule, weather, customer needs, and backlog
• Specialized knowledge to analyze and solve complex
• Continuous, concentrated mental and visual effort to plan and perform complex work.
