Job summary

TurnPoint Services is seeking an Apprentice HVAC candidate in Wichita to launch a rewarding career in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. You’ll receive paid, hands-on training and guidance from seasoned professionals as you progress toward field work.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills to read and interpret technical documents and explain concepts clearly to customers and team members.
• Solid mathematical skills including fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages.
• Excellent problem-solving and reasoning abilities to troubleshoot issues.
• Comfortable using computers, data entry, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
• Physical stamina to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and work outdoors safely.
• Willingness to learn from experienced journeymen and grow HVAC skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead HVAC technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial HVAC systems.
• Attend apprenticeship classes and achieve passing grades in classroom and hands-on training assessments.
• Learn and apply proper use of tools, equipment, and safety procedures on job sites.
• Measure, cut, and assemble ductwork, piping, and related components; support setup and testing of HVAC units.
• Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance under guidance, including electrical, refrigerant, and airflow systems.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas, tools, and vehicles while adhering to safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers, providing professional service.
• Participate in ongoing hands-on training to build technical knowledge and grow toward becoming a licensed HVAC technician.
• Work closely with experienced technicians to gain practical field experience and contribute to safe, high-quality performance.

What You Bring

• You bring strong communication skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical documents and explain concepts clearly to customers and team members.
• You have solid mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, and the ability to interpret bar graphs.
• Your excellent problem-solving and reasoning abilities, with the capacity to troubleshoot issues, make sound decisions, helps to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• You are comfortable using computers and technology, including data entry, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
• Physical stamina and adaptability, able to lift and maneuver heavy equipment, work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, and safely climb ladders or scaffolding.
• You have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn from experienced journeymen while growing your skills in the heating, air and ventilation trade.

Key Responsibilities
