Job summary

GDC Industrial, Inc. in Tyler, TX seeks an Apprentice Electrician (E2) to perform entry-level electrical installation tasks under supervision and within an approved apprenticeship program.

The role focuses on developing foundational electrical skills, safety awareness, and code knowledge while supporting project execution. Responsibilities include assisting with wiring, pulling cable, installing boxes, and using hand tools safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in an approved electrical apprenticeship program (state, union, or company-sponsored).
• Basic math skills, including measurements and simple calculations.
• Ability to read and follow basic drawings and instructions.
• Strong willingness to learn and accept direction.
• OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety (required).
• Jobsite-specific safety orientation.
• First Aid / CPR (preferred).
• Apprentice classroom training (Year 1 or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of electrical systems in drawings and instructions.
• Pull wire and cable through conduit and cable trays.
• Install electrical boxes, supports, hangers, and basic conduit systems.
• Assist with mounting and assembling electrical equipment.
• Use hand and power tools safely and properly.
• Follow job hazard analyses, work permits, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Report hazards, near misses, and incidents immediately.
• Support journeymen and foremen with daily tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of training.
