Job summary

Tri-State Water, Power & Air is expanding its electrical team and seeking an Apprentice Electrician for generator installations. The role involves assisting licensed electricians, installing generators, conduit, wiring, and related components on residential projects.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1–3 years in electrical, construction, or related trade preferred; apprenticeship is a plus but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and site safety preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed electricians with installation of residential standby generators and related electrical equipment.
  • Install conduit, wiring, transfer switches, panels, and generator components.
  • Safely use hand and power tools and learn proper installation techniques.

What you can expect in this role:
  • Assist licensed electricians with the installation of residential standby generators and associated electrical equipment.
  • Help install conduit, wiring, transfer switches, electrical panels, and other generator-related components.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment while learning proper installation techniques.
  • Follow all electrical codes, company standards, and safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Load, unload, organize, and maintain tools, equipment, and materials on job sites.
  • Complete required documentation, including installation notes, materials used, and job progress.
  • Provide professional, courteous customer service while representing the company on every job.
  • Continuously develop your electrical knowledge through hands-on training and mentorship.
The skills/experience you\'ll need to be considered for this role:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in electrical, construction, or a related trade preferred (electrical apprenticeship experience is a plus but not required).
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and job site safety preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn the electrical trade.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship.
