Job summary

Eck Services, now part of TurnPoint Services, seeks an Apprentice Electrician to train under a licensed journeyman in Wichita and surrounding communities. You will gain hands-on paid experience inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical systems while developing the skills to become an expert in the field.

You’ll educate customers, help them choose products, and follow scripts to ensure a professional, safe, and high-quality service experience.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills to read and explain technical documents.
• Solid math skills including fractions, decimals, ratios and percentages.
• Excellent problem-solving and reasoning abilities for troubleshooting.
• Comfort with computers, data entry, spreadsheets, and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Attend apprenticeship classes and achieve passing grades.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical systems under supervision of a licensed journeyman.
• Educate customers on products, repairs and services to enhance electrical systems.

Role Overview

• Are you eager to learn, grow, and build a career in the electrical trade? Under the guidance of a licensed journeyman, you’ll gain hands‑on paid experience inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical systems while developing the skills to become a true expert in the field.
• In this role, you’ll also have the opportunity to educate and assist customers, helping them select products and services that improve and enhance their electrical systems. What You Bring

• You bring strong communication skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical documents and explain concepts clearly to customers and team members.
• You have solid mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, and the ability to interpret bar graphs.
• Your excellent problem‑solving and reasoning abilities, with the capacity to troubleshoot issues, make sound decisions, helps to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• You are comfortable using computers and technology, including data entry, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
• Physical stamina and adaptability, able to lift and maneuver heavy equipment, work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, and safely climb ladders or scaffolding.
• You have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn from experienced journeymen while growing your skills in the electrical trade.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend and actively participate in apprenticeship classes, achieving passing grades in both classroom and hands‑on training assessments.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair or replace electrical systems under the guidance of a licensed journeyman, gaining practical, on‑the‑job experience.
• Educate and assist customers in selecting products, repairs, and services to enhance their electrical systems, delivering an exceptional customer experience.
• Follow established scripts and procedures to ensure a consistent, professional experience for every customer.
• Develop your skills and knowledge daily, building a strong foundation for a long‑term career in the electrical trade.
