Job summary

STACK Infrastructure is hiring an Apprentice Critical Operations Technician (ACOT) to join our team at STACK data centers. The program emphasizes hands-on training and mentorship to develop critical operations skills in a fast-paced data center environment.

Under supervision, you will work on mechanical, electrical, and fire life safety tasks, supporting operations at multiple STACK data centers. Benefits include healthcare, dental, vision, life insurance, and PTO. Eligible to work in the US.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, some college or a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and database housing software.
• Ability to multitask and work well in stressful situations.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays, and on-call support.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Operate mechanical systems including chilled water systems, HVAC units, humidification, and central plant operations.
• Manage electrical distribution from Utility/Generator through UPS to customer load, UPS, PDU, and RPP cabinets.
• Monitor fire life safety systems and detectors.

THE POSITION:

Positions will be available at any US STACK data center.

Under the supervision of STACK Critical Operations Team Members:

• Mechanical responsibilities will include working on chilled water systems and components, HVAC systems such as roof top units, CRAC/CRAH units, humidification systems, fan wall systems, air‑cooled chillers, and central plant operations.
• Electrical responsibilities will include working onelectrical/critical power distribution from the Utility/Generator main switchgear through the UPS systems out to the customer load, UPS, PDU, and RPP cabinets.
• Fire Life Safety responsibilities will include monitoring wet sprinkler systems and pre‑action sprinkler systems as well as their associated detection devices.

• Travel: Less than 5%.

MUST-HAVEQUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma, some college or a bachelor’s degree
• Experience working with various Microsoft Office applications and other database housing software
• Ability to handle a multitude of tasks and work well in stressful situations.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, reach or feel objects, climb stairs, balance, stoop or kneel, talk, see at close range, and hear for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays, and on‑call support.
• Must be comfortable working in a high stress, fast paced environment with shifting priorities.

Compensation Range:

$34.00 - $35.50
