Job summary

The State of Missouri Judiciary is hiring an Apprentice Court Clerk to perform entry-level duties in a court using an electronic filing system. Work is under close supervision while learning general office knowledge and court policies, with responsibilities in case processing and interacting with the public.

You will handle docketing, review documents, assist judges, manage financial records, and prepare court-related documents.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree in a related field or at least 60 semester hours from an institution of higher learning.
Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.
Ability to comprehend court procedures and policies, legal documents and court rules.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a high-volume, changing priority environment.

Responsibilities

Perform technical clerical work in the Criminal Traffic - Docketing Department including preparing criminal and traffic dockets and processing work in JIS and SMC.
Review documents for completeness and accuracy; attach bonds and prepare payout orders; open mail and route to proper files.
Answer inquiries from attorneys, court personnel and the public in person or by phone; provide exceptional customer service.
Prepare court documents including court orders, calendars, notices of hearings, and coordinate document flow for court assignments.
