Job summary

General Parts Group is hiring an Apprentice Field Service Technician to repair and maintain commercial kitchen equipment in schools, healthcare facilities, and restaurants across the area. You will shadow a Lead Technician and receive hands-on training while earning $20–$25 hourly.

The role involves troubleshooting and servicing cooking, refrigeration, and HVAC systems, with opportunities for advancement, gear provided, and union-friendly benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience or education/training preferred.
• EPA certification for refrigeration techs.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial cooking, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment.
• Provide service solutions for gas, electric, and steam systems.
• Order and install replacement parts.
• Participate in after-hours & weekend on-call rotations.

Seeking mechanically inclined individuals with a background in electrical work, HVAC/R and similar trades to apply!

Pay & Benefits

What You’ll Do

What We Need

• Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets our safety standards
• Completion of a criminal background check and drug screen
• 2+ years of related experience, education, or military training preferred
• EPA certification (for refrigeration techs)

• Must be at least 18 years of age
