Adecco Portugal is seeking an Apprentice Chocolate Production Associate in Berkeley, CA to assist in manufacturing, refining, molding, packaging, and moving chocolate products while adhering to food safety and quality standards.

The role involves working in a fast-paced production environment, with responsibilities from formulas to equipment setup, and daily documentation. On-site position with early morning shift and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or industrial production experience.
• Food or beverage manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic to intermediate math skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow production formulas and recipes.
• Load and mix ingredients into mixers and bulk tanks.
• Operate refining equipment to achieve quality specifications.
• Monitor product testing requirements, including viscosity and particle size.
• Operate chocolate molding and depositing equipment.
• Troubleshoot product quality issues related to weight, shape, and temper.
• Complete production documentation and lot tracking accurately.
• Follow GMP, HACCP, FIFO, and food safety guidelines.
• Set up, operate, tear down, and clean production equipment.
• Perform sanitation and cleaning procedures throughout the facility.
• Conduct daily inspections of conveyors, scales, chillers, and related equipment.
• Move materials and finished products safely throughout the facility.
• Assist with inventory control and proper storage of ingredients and materials.
• Communicate production issues and improvement opportunities to management.
• Support other departments as needed.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment when required.

Schedule: Full-Time, 4am - 12:30pm (OT & weekends as needed)
Pay Rate: $23/hr.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

• Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.

• Ability to work on elevated platforms above 10 feet when necessary.

• Ability to work around common food allergens, including soy, milk, and tree nuts.

Preferred Skills

• Food manufacturing experience.

• Forklift certification or experience.

• Experience with production logs and inventory tracking.

• Knowledge of GMP and HACCP requirements.
