Our Apprentice Cake Decorator is a key player in ensuring our pastries look and taste amazing. In addition to providing unparalleled guest service, you'll assist in creating beautiful and delicious art for our guests and provide the sweets that will be the hit of their parties. Main duties include training in all aspects of the Bakery Department, including Clerk and Baker functions, with a focus on cake decorating for those with minimal or no retail decorating experience. To succeed, you should be a team player who supports others, has the drive to grow into leadership, and can inspire those around you. Creativity in cuisine, a passion for food trends, and a desire to connect with people are essential. Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Learn product knowledge and procedures, including product information by category, special orders, cake program, portion control, seasonal items, and color mixing.
• Follow proper procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Apply merchandising principles to generate sales and impress guests.
• Maintain safety as the top priority for team members, guests, and products.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and helping them find products. Answer questions and make suggestions based on product knowledge.
• Handle products and equipment properly, following food safety and safety guidelines.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales.
• Prepare and decorate bakery products for cases and displays, ensuring proper rotation and freshness.
• Offer sampling opportunities when appropriate.
• Record special orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Keep equipment, work surfaces, and the department clean and sanitized.
• Assist in maintaining the backroom, coolers, and freezers.
• Follow department procedures, including setup, order taking, and product rotation.
• Assist in other areas as needed.
