Our Apprentice Cake Decorator is a key player in ensuring our pastries look and taste amazing. In addition to providing unparalleled guest service, you'll assist in creating beautiful and delicious art for our guests and provide the sweets that will be the hit of their parties. Main duties include training in all aspects of the Bakery Department, including Clerk and Baker functions, with a focus on cake decorating for those with minimal or no retail decorating experience. To succeed, you should be a team player, supportive of others, eager to grow your leadership skills, and passionate about food and customer experience. Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Learn product knowledge, procedures, and information such as product categories, special orders, cake programs, portion control, seasonal items, and color mixing.
• Follow proper procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Apply merchandising principles to generate sales and impress guests.
• Prioritize safety in all tasks for team members, guests, and products.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, helping them locate products, answering questions, and offering suggestions.
• Familiarize yourself with store products to assist and advise customers effectively.
• Handle products and equipment in accordance with food safety and safety guidelines.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales.
• Prepare and decorate bakery products, ensuring freshness and proper rotation.
• Offer sampling opportunities when appropriate.
• Record special orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work areas, and department to meet sanitation standards.
• Assist in unloading deliveries and maintaining backroom efficiency.
• Follow department procedures, including setup, order taking, and product rotation.
• Assist in other areas as needed.
