Our Apprentice Baker is a key player in ensuring our pastries look and taste amazing. In addition to providing exceptional guest service, you'll assist in creating beautiful and delicious baked goods for our guests, making their parties memorable. Key responsibilities include producing quality bakery products to meet customer requirements and building customer loyalty through exemplary service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects of the Bakery Department, including Clerk and Cake Decorator functions. The focus is on baker duties for individuals with minimal or no retail decorating experience.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Experience Desired: Prior experience in Bakery or related industry
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Perform bench work according to established scratch procedures when necessary.
• Prepare and shape products according to recipes.
• Bake products using specified time and temperature.
• Insert products into proof box, set controls, and ensure proper size and shape.
• Prepare and fry donuts following established procedures.
• Use freezer for product preservation to maintain freshness.
• Demonstrate suggestive selling and provide samples when appropriate.
• Prioritize safety in all tasks to ensure the well-being of team members, guests, and products.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, helping locate products, and answering questions with suggestions.
• Handle products and equipment following food safety and safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work areas, and storage to meet sanitation standards.
• Bake and rotate products in the bakery cases, ensuring freshness and proper dating.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures, including emergency protocols and housekeeping.
• Record special orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Understand ingredients and their roles in scratch baked goods.
• Prepare baking ingredients and recipes for baking operations.
• Assist in unloading deliveries and maintaining bakery backroom, coolers, and freezers.
• Assist in other duties as required.
