Job summary

Diversified Landscape Co. is seeking a motivated landscape professional to support public sector construction projects in California. You will help ensure efficient use of materials, labor, and equipment while adhering to safety standards.

This role emphasizes learning, discipline, and teamwork, with an apprentice program and opportunities for growth. A HS diploma or GED and OSHA 10 are preferred, along with a valid Class C license.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Follow instructions and safety procedures.
  • Operate and maintain light equipment and power tools.

Currently employing over a hundred full‑time employees and maintaining an expansive heavy equipment fleet ranging from hydroseeder rigs to mulch blowing trucks.

Overview

To be successful in this position you will need to be open to learning, disciplined and systems‑driven, detail‑oriented, comfortable working independently and have a genuine interest in helping team members with a positive and pro‑active attitude.

Your primary objective is to provide Diversified Landscape Co. with successful projects by assuring the efficient use of materials, labor, equipment, and contractors to complete a project on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with the required quality, and in a manner consistent with appropriate safety standards.

Essential Duties:
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Able to understand and follow company safety procedures
  • Ability to adapt in a changing work environment
  • Operate and maintain a variety of light equipment and power tools
  • Project duties include cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, raking, trimming, mowing, weeding, edging, digging, watering and other duties as assigned
  • Maintain, repair and install automatic irrigation systems and related fixtures
  • Apply herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers on turf, trees, shrubs, ground covers, flowers and all other areas requiring weed and pest control
  • Ability to work extended hours in all weather conditions
Miscellaneous:
  • Assist with the removal of damaged/broken vehicles and equipment at the job sites. Dispose and replace unsafe tools and equipment
  • Perform other landscape maintenance duties as assigned
  • Use company cell phone for official business
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Thorough knowledge of vehicle and equipment utilization and repair
  • Bilingual and excellent written and verbal skills
  • Punctual
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Regularly requires the exertion of no more than 75 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • Ability to multi‑task
  • Professional work apparel
  • OSHA 10 Certificate
Education / Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED is desirable
  • Prior landscape or related experience is desirable
  • For Apprentice classification must display some technical knowledge and competencies in all facets of landscape operations. Display a professional and enthusiastic attitude and work ethic
  • Must maintain a passing grade and advance in the apprentice program as stated in the apprentice course curriculum
  • Possess a valid Class C driver’s license
  • Pass a drug, DMV and background test
