Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and evaluate vehicles, trailers, and equipment for condition, specifications, and marketability.
  • Research current market trends, comparable sales data, and industry resources to determine accurate fair market values.
  • Prepare detailed appraisal reports for lending, acquisitions, mergers, and insurance purposes, including photographs and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate appraisal findings clearly to internal teams, financial institutions, insurance partners, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, equipment types, valuation methodologies, and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and applicable appraisal and reporting standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Purpose:The Appraiser is responsible for evaluating and determining the fair market value of trucks, trailers, and other equipment for lending, acquisition, merger, and insurance-related purposes on behalf of Taylor & Martin. This role provides accurate, well-documented, and objective valuation reports that support financial institutions, corporate transactions, risk assessment, and insurance underwriting decisions.
