Job summary

Doyle Auctioneers & Appraisers in New York City is seeking an Appraisal Coordinator for the Trusts & Estates Department. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, able to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Full-time, in-house position, paid hourly at $23 per hour. Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree required.
• Basic understanding of fine and decorative arts terms, furniture styles and periods.
• Basic understanding of appraisal reports and methodology.
• Strong typing and proofreading skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe and similar programs.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation of fair market value appraisals from the initial call to the delivery of the completed appraisal in a timely manner.
• Attend on-site appraisals with the team of appraisers.
• Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, executors and other clients and/or consultants, as required.
• Organize and compile all materials needed for the appraisal from the appraisers and other sources.
• Proofread your own work and the work of colleagues.
• Participate in auctions and other events at Doyle.
