Job summary

Orbis is seeking an experienced VP of Applied Technologies to lead a mission-focused service line. The role requires hands-on technical leadership, a strong track record delivering end-to-end technology solutions, and capability to own P&L, staffing, and delivery for complex national security programs.

The VP will guide architecture, deliver on commitments with customers, incubate new efforts, and ensure repeatable, scalable outcomes across multiple platforms while advancing Orbis’ strategic

Qualifications

• Twelve or more years delivering technology solutions in national security, defense, or intelligence, with leadership experience.
• Proven ownership of a service line, portfolio, or program P&L, including staffing and utilization decisions.
• Strong written communication and ability to articulate complex technical concepts to executives and customers.

Responsibilities

• Own the service line: define offering, delivery model, standards, P&L, staffing, and utilization.
• Architect the solution and stay hands‑on in design and delivery with the team.
• Deliver programs to schedule, quality, security, and contractual obligations; surface risk early.
• Incubate new efforts from concept to first delivery and decide if it should stay bespoke or become a product.
• Build and lead engineers and technical leads; grow people into impactful work.
• Own the customer relationship on technical ground and shape requirements for pursuits.
• Coordinate with Product & Engineering to leverage Catalyst, Pulse, Discovery, and platform AI.
• Keep economics honest and ensure scalable approaches.
