Job summary

Orbis Operations seeks a dynamic Vice President, Applied Technologies to own the service line end‑to‑end, from technical direction to delivery performance and staffing. This is a builder’s executive role requiring hands‑on design, architecture, and delivery work with engineers to craft the right solution for mission-critical needs.

The VP will lead engineers, set standards for solution delivery, and own customer relationships at a senior technical level.

Qualifications

• Twelve or more years delivering technology solutions in national security, defense, or intelligence.
• Five or more years leading engineering or delivery organizations.
• Ownership of a service line, portfolio, or program P&L, including staffing and pricing decisions.
• Ability to walk through build, buy, and integration decisions with engineering teams.
• Experience defining scope and delivering against ambiguous customer problems.
• Experience integrating third‑party and open‑source technology with internal capabilities.
• Proven senior technical presence with government customers and partners.
• Experience hiring, developing, and retaining technical talent in cleared markets.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Own the service line, define offering, delivery model, and standards; manage P&L and staffing.
• Stay hands-on in design and delivery; translate ambiguous problems into executable approaches.
• Deliver programs to schedule, quality, security, and contractual obligations; surface risk early.
• Incubate new efforts from concept to delivery; decide when to continue, productize, or decline.
• Build and lead the team; hire, develop, and retain engineers and tech leads.
• Own the customer relationship on technical grounds; shape requirements and pursue follow‑on work.
• Integrate across Orbis with product, engineering, and platform AI; feed requirements back to roadmap.
• Maintain honest economics; track costs and staffing to sustain scale.
• Document architectures and decisions so others can operate them.
• Report delivery, financial performance, staffing health, and risks with clear judgment.
