The candidate would be an engineer who understands technical problems well enough to engage colleagues from other disciplines as a peer, and who turns that understanding into working AI workflows or software.

Project assignments will be coordinated between individual Project Coordinators and the Software Innovation Manager to consider prioritization of strategic initiatives across the company, the needs of specific projects, and staff development goals.

This position requires strict adherence to nuclear industry principles, including but not limited to:

  • Building custom AI/ML tools professionally, or evidence of building things outside of school and work (personal projects, self-hosted tools, or a body of tinkering you can talk about)
  • Strong software engineering discipline, including version control (Git), automated testing, code review, and development of code that a colleague can pick up and extend
  • Carrying software from prototype to production, including packaging, deployment, reliability, and the maintenance that follows
