Job summary

Amazon Science in Palo Alto seeks an Applied Scientist to move ML models from problem formulation to production, delivering measurable advertiser impact on Amazon Advertising.

You will lead end-to-end ML initiatives, develop models to improve advertiser outcomes, design experiments, and partner with engineering and product teams to ship scientific advances into customer-facing products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building models for business applications.
• PhD, or Master’s +4 years CS/CE/ML or related field.
• Experience in Java, C++, Python or related languages.
• Algorithms, data structures, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel/distributed computing.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end ML initiatives from framing to production deployment.
• Develop models to improve advertiser outcomes on Amazon Advertising.
• Design and run experiments and analyses to validate impact.
• Collaborate with engineering/product to ship science into customer-facing products.
• Advance state of the art by researching new techniques for advertising.
