Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Applied Scientist with a strong deep learning background to help build training environments that teach large language models to reason, use tools, and perform complex tasks.

You will design and evaluate reinforcement learning environments (RL gyms) for LLM training, define tasks and rewards, and scale infrastructure to support model development. The Foundational AI team drives GenAI progress for customers.

Qualifications

• PhD or master's with 4+ years in CS/CE/ML.
• 3+ years building models for business applications.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux and professional software development.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evaluate reinforcement learning environments for LLM training.
• Define tasks and reward signals, build infrastructure to run environments at scale.
• Measure transfer of environments into model capability and verify quality.
• Collaborate with model training teams to maximize environment value.
