Amazon seeks an Applied Scientist for CAMEL to advance state-of-the-art conversational AI using LLMs and AI methods. You will design and evaluate models, leveraging diverse data and large-scale compute to deliver contextual conversations for millions of customers.

The role emphasizes research, experimentation, and shipping impactful AI products, with a focus on Prompt Engineering, SFT, and Human Feedback loops.

Qualifications

• 3+ years applying ML modeling for business problems.
• PhD or Master’s with 4+ years in CS/CE/ML or related field.
• Experience with patents or top-tier publications.
• Proficient in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, parsing, optimization, data mining and HPC.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to research and develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques.
• Analyze user experiences using large-scale data and computing resources to advance AI.
• Work on core LLM tech including Prompt Engineering, Supervised Fine-Tuning, and RLHF.
