Job summary

Amazon Web Services is seeking an Applied Scientist to join the Security Analytics and AI Research team within AWS Security Services. You will develop ML/AI solutions for GuardDuty and Security Hub, tackling never-before-solved security challenges at scale.

This role emphasizes building scalable security ML systems, collaborating with software engineers, product managers, and security experts, and delivering production-ready experiments with rigorous results.

Qualifications

• PhD in computer science, ML, engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on predictive modeling and large data analysis.
• 2+ years of programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• 2+ years of building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications.

Responsibilities

• Invent, implement, and deploy state-of-the-art ML/AI algorithms and systems for information security applications.
• Prototype and test many hypotheses in a high-ambiguity environment using quantitative and business judgment.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate experiments into large-scale production services.
• Report results in a scientifically rigorous way.
• Interact with security engineers, product managers and domain experts to address challenges that need innovative solutions.
