LinkedIn is seeking a strong Data Scientist to apply rigorous science to practical product problems in a hybrid work environment based in California. You will work across experimentation, causal inference, prediction, and large-scale ML to build scalable tools and systems used across LinkedIn.

The ideal candidate combines technical depth with product and business judgment, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and leadership to deliver measurable impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline.
• 5+ years of industry or relevant academia experience.
• Background in at least one programming language (R, Python, Java, Ruby, Scala/Spark or Perl).
• Experience in applied statistics and statistical modeling in at least one software package (R, Python).

Responsibilities

• Independently identify and frame complex data science problems with high-impact opportunities.
• Lead advanced analyses, experimentation, machine learning, and causal inference efforts.
• Leverage AI tools to increase productivity in day-to-day workflows.
• Design and refine modeling approaches with scalable, replicable solutions and measurable impact.
• Evaluate historical approaches and external literature to determine best paths forward.
• Uphold high standards for scientific rigor, reproducibility, and analytical integrity.
• Develop and implement advanced data science methodologies and ML models.
• Build production-ready data science solutions considering latency, cost, and maintainability.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, AI, and leadership to translate priorities into data science roadmaps.
• Influence stakeholders with clear insights and advocacy for AI/ML methodologies.
