Ohio State University’s Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence seeks an Applied Research Engineer 2 to lead industry-led projects in industrial cybersecurity and the commercialization of new technologies through integrated design and manufacturing.

The role includes planning virtual cybersecurity curriculum for manufacturing, engaging with partners, delivering webinars and workshops, and coordinating with faculty, staff, and students to meet milestones and funding goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, business, communications, education, psychology, or related field.
• 2 years experience in a professional research environment including proposal writing, program outreach, partner engagement, and participant recruitment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated comfort presenting.
• Experience building/maintaining relationships with external partners and orchestrating outreach to increase participation.
• Eligible to access export-controlled data (U.S. persons) and work in an export-controlled facility.

Responsabilités

• Lead engineer for CDME, execute industry-led projects relating to industrial cybersecurity and commercialization of new technology.
• Plan and develop virtual cybersecurity curriculum focused on manufacturing, OT, and AI readiness.
• Conduct program outreach and partner engagement through advertising, communications, and events.
• Coordinate with OSU faculty, CDME staff and students on multi-disciplinary tasks and deliver technical content via webinars, workshops, and conferences.
• Travel to customer facilities for project meetings and technology implementation; ensure milestones, deliverables, and budgets are met; secure funding to support position and reports.
