Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking an Applied Research Engineer 2 in the Engineering Department's Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence. This role leads industrial cybersecurity projects, coordinates multi-disciplinary teams, and drives the execution of industry-funded R&D efforts.

You will develop virtual curricula on cybersecurity for manufacturing, engage with external partners, and ensure projects meet milestones, budgets, and schedules while expanding funding.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a professional research environment, including proposal writing, program outreach, partner engagement, and participant recruitment.
• Experience translating technical cybersecurity concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects for CDME, ensuring milestones, deliverables, cost, and schedule targets.
• Develop virtual cybersecurity curriculum focused on manufacturing and OT resilience.
• Promote programs via webinars, workshops, and events; coordinate outreach with partners.
• Support growth through grant-funded initiatives and industry collaborations.
