Job summary

Freudenberg is seeking a chemist to investigate and develop new chemical technologies, focusing on silicone- and hydrocarbon-based polymers and additives. The role involves designing, executing, and optimizing lab research related to organic synthesis, polymer development, and new material evaluation.

You will collaborate with suppliers and external partners to qualify new raw materials and provide technical support to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related scientific discipline is required.
• Master's or PhD in chemistry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of organic chemistry and chemical synthesis, including experimental design and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and develop new chemical technologies with a focus on silicone- and hydrocarbon-based polymers and additives.
• Design, execute, and optimize lab research related to organic synthesis, polymer development, and new material evaluation.
• Identify, evaluate, and qualify new raw materials with suppliers and partners.
• Provide technical expertise to cross-functional teams across the organization.
• Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to improve chemical processes for quality, efficiency, safety, and profitability.
• Lead scale-up and commercialization of new chemical technologies.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, risk management, sustainability, and process performance.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance R&D objectives.
