Job summary

Chem-Trend Limited Partnership is seeking a chemist to investigate and develop new chemical technologies to improve product performance. You will design experiments, evaluate polymers, and collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing to bring new chemistries from concept to scale.

The role requires a strong synthetic chemistry background, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a focus on safety, quality, and cost efficiency in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• Master's or PhD in chemistry preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of organic chemistry and chemical synthesis, including experimental design, reaction optimization, and analytical characterization.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and develop new chemical technologies with a focus on silicone- and hydrocarbon-based polymers and additives for product applications.
• Design, execute, and optimize laboratory research related to organic synthesis, polymer development, and new material evaluation.
• Identify, evaluate, and qualify new raw materials through collaboration with suppliers and external partners.
• Provide technical expertise and support to cross-functional teams across the organization.
• Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to develop, improve, and implement chemical processes that enhance quality, efficiency, safety, and profitability.
• Lead and support the scale-up and commercialization of new chemical technologies.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, risk management, sustainability, and operational performance within existing processes and systems.
• Analyze experimental and process data, interpret results, and provide recommendations to support innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to advance research and development objectives.
