Job summary

Infleqtion seeks an Applied Physicist to build, operate, and improve experimental platforms for Rydberg-atom RF sensing. You will own defined experiments, translate physics into measurable sensor improvements, and contribute to integrated QRF systems.

The work is hands-on in a laboratory setting with modeling support. The role reports to the Director of R&D, Quantum RF, and requires collaborative interaction across physics, engineering, and product teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building, aligning, and troubleshooting complex experimental apparatus that integrates lasers, optics, RF or microwave hardware, and software or controls.
• Experience with laser frequency locking, optical power stabilization, and photodetection.
• Ability to design controlled experiments, analyze noisy data, assess measurement uncertainty and draw defensible conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Own defined experimental campaigns addressing QRF sensitivity, noise, and stability.
• Build, align, commission, operate, and troubleshoot testbeds integrating lasers and optics with RF hardware.
• Design experiments to isolate performance limits and translate results into hardware or control-system improvements.
• Integrate validated improvements into sensor heads and complete QRF systems with documented methods.
• Characterize vapor cells and RF resonators influencing sensor performance.
• Develop automated instrument-control and data-analysis workflows using Python.
