Job summary

Infleqtion seeks an Applied Physicist to build, operate, and improve experimental platforms for Rydberg-atom RF sensing. You will own defined experiments, translate atomic/optical/RF behavior into measurable sensor improvements, and push validated changes into integrated QRF systems.

The role centers on hands-on lab work with modeling to support design decisions. You will work with RF, optical-mechanical, electrical, embedded-software, and systems teams to maintain stable configurations,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in physics, applied physics, optical engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience building, aligning, operating, and troubleshooting complex experimental apparatus.
  • Practical experience with laser and optical alignment, photodetection, and noise/uncertainty analysis.
  • Experience automating experiments and data analysis with Python or similar tools.
  • Ability to design controlled experiments and translate results into hardware or software improvements.
  • Ability to collaborate across physics, engineering, and product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own defined experimental campaigns addressing QRF sensitivity, noise, and stability.
  • Build and operate testbeds combining lasers, optics, RF hardware, and data acquisition.
  • Design controlled experiments to identify performance limitations and drive improvements.
  • Integrate validated improvements into sensor heads and complete QRF systems.
  • Characterize vapor cells and RF resonators, including noise and repeatability.
  • Develop automated instrument-control and data-analysis workflows in Python.
  • Translate findings into test procedures and engineering recommendations.
