AppFolio, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Applied Data Science in a hybrid capacity to lead the Platform Data Science team. You will guide data scientists, build production ML solutions, and partner with GTM and Finance to deliver measurable impact.

You will own modeling, forecasting automations, and governance across the data science stack while coaching team members toward growth and excellence in a fast-paced SaaS environment.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8+ years building and deploying predictive models in production for business stakeholders.
• 2+ years leading data scientists as a people manager or technical lead who set direction and coached the team.
• Strong programming background with Python and SQL.
• Experience developing, deploying, monitoring, and retraining classification and propensity models end to end.
• Experience building and evaluating LLM-based products in production (agents or natural-language analytics).
• Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, CRM data such as Salesforce.

Mansioni

• Own signal modeling and scoring logic for all AppFolio products and co-create Next Best Action layer for GTM teams.
• Own shared data science services, forecasting automations, and data access with governance and explainability.
• Own coding standards for the Cerberus model fleet: gates, deployment, monitoring, retraining, and outputs.
• Review pull requests and deliverables, ensuring quality and risk management of models and analyses.
• Coordinate delivery with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Finance leaders; set priorities with senior stakeholders.
• Set the direction for applied AI/ML in Data Science & Analytics and lead the team’s growth and performance.
