Job summary

Agile Defense seeks an Applied Data & Software Engineer in Arlington, VA, to design, build, and deploy analytic tools, ML workflows, and knowledge systems that transform data into actionable insight. You will work in secure SIPRNet/JWICS environments on scalable pipelines and real time applications for Joint Staff missions.

The role requires strong Python development, TypeScript frontend work, and an active TS/SCI clearance, with preference for NLP libraries and graph databases expertise.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Python development experience, including application development and Git based version management.
• 4+ years of front end TypeScript experience with multi user production deployments, plus at least 2 years of Python proficiency.
• Demonstrated experience building in new or ambiguous environments with minimal oversight.
• Must have an active TS/SCI clearance (SCI eligibility).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy Python based NLP and machine learning workflows, including text analytics and entity extraction.
• Build network analysis and knowledge graph systems for complex analytic problems.
• Design front end applications in TypeScript for multi-user real time analytics and decision environments.
• Build APIs, integrate data feeds, and support end-to-end data pipelines in secure environments.
• Evaluate emerging tools and adapt capabilities for Joint Staff missions with minimal supervision.
• Provide technical documentation and iterative solution development with customers.
