Job summary

Valthos Inc. is seeking an Applied Computational Biologist to translate operational needs into biology-focused product strategy.

You will own the computational biology contribution to major customer engagements, develop materials to communicate research capabilities, and convert requirements into actionable objectives for AI and software teams. You will serve as a bridge between our research team and customers, understanding models, proposing use cases, and translating insights into research,

Qualifications

• Research experience in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, or a related field.
• Exceptional scientific and technical communication skills, including ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences through analyses and proposals.
• Ability to analyze biological data and interpret computational results.
• Proficiency in Python or a similar scientific computing language.
• Ability to work full-time and on-site in New York City or San Francisco.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of Valthos's models, methods, and roadmap.
• Build trusted technical relationships with customers and understand their scientific and operational priorities.
• Develop written materials translating customer priorities into clear biological questions, use cases, evaluations, and technical requirements.
• Start with hands-on analytical execution and technical communications, with potential growth into ownership of customer scientific strategy.
• Define and drive how Valthos’s research is positioned and applied externally, turning it into written proposals and customer programs.
• Collaborate with customers to scope and lead scientific work, including defining the biological question, choosing the model/datasets, and analyzing results.
