Job summary

GC AI seeks an exceptional Member of Technical Staff, Applied AI to lead development of our cutting-edge AI platform for the legal domain. You will be the technical cornerstone of AI initiatives, working with executives to architect systems that push LLM boundaries in legal work.

You'll own core AI/LLM infrastructure, design systems for complex legal reasoning, and guide a growing team while shaping our technical roadmap with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering, with 2+ years in AI systems.
• Deep expertise in LLM implementation and optimization.
• Production AI systems experience at scale.
• Experience with modern AI frameworks and tools.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers.
• Strong TS background and modern software architecture.
• Degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent hands-on software experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect and drive core AI/LLM infrastructure from conception to production.
• Design AI systems for complex legal reasoning and document analysis.
• Lead evaluation and integration of LLM capabilities and tools.
• Establish best practices for AI development and reliability.
• Build rapid prototyping and validation frameworks for AI features.
• Mentor growing team of AI engineers.
• Shape technical strategy and roadmap with senior leadership.
• Design legal-grade evals to harden model choices and prompts.
• Improve precision, recall, and latency with RAG and retrieval.
• Translate domain insights into AI-powered product features.
