Job summary

Mirion Nuclear & Safety is seeking a seasoned Embedded AI Solutions Engineer to design, build, and ship AI-enabled solutions for production, quality, service, and back-office workflows. You will work directly with plant managers and quality leads, turning real-world pain points into measurable AI improvements.

You will own end-to-end delivery from prototyping to production, collaborate with the central AI team on architecture and governance, and drive adoption through clear business storytelling

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping production software or applied ML/AI systems with real users.
• Experience in software engineering and cloud-based application development and deployment.
• Hands-on experience building agentic or LLM-based systems (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen) with prompt design and retrieval-augmented approaches.
• Strong core software engineering: Python, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), APIs, and MLOps/DevOps fluency.
• Demonstrated high agency and ability to own projects with minimal direction.
• Excellent communication skills with non-technical audiences and ability to build trust with operators.

Responsibilities

• Embed within the Nuclear & Safety unit to map high-leverage AI opportunities on the floor.
• Build a first-hand map of manual, error-prone processes and quantify cost/time savings.
• Translate pain points into scoped AI solutions and build a business case for prioritization.
• Design and deploy AI use cases such as automated visual inspection and sensor-data analytics.
• Develop agentic AI systems for automation and workflow orchestration in production and back-office functions.
• Own rapid prototyping, pilot with real users, production hardening, and handoff.
• Present progress and results in plain business language to non-AI stakeholders and track KPIs.
• Define and monitor metrics to prove impact and course-correct as needed.
• Partner with centralized AI team for architecture, governance, and reusable patterns.
