Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Applications Software Engineer in Applied AI to design, evaluate, deploy, and integrate modern AI systems powering SpaceX programs including AI-powered production and Starlink operations. You will own end-to-end lifecycle from prototype to production, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams.

Preferred candidates have hands-on experience with LLMs, agentic systems, and robust AI deployment, with a strong software engineering foundation and frontend/backend

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline or 2+ years of software experience in lieu.
• 1+ years of full stack development experience.
• Hands-on experience evaluating, deploying, and integrating AI models into production systems.
• Proven track record delivering end-to-end AI products or AI-powered features.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable software applications used across SpaceX, including AI-powered tools for production, flight, and Starlink operations.
• Incorporate modern LLMs and agentic systems into production-ready solutions.
• Own full lifecycle of Applied AI systems from design to production and monitoring.
• Architect production AI workflows with emphasis on reliability, safety, and scalable deployment.
• Build evaluation frameworks and observability for AI quality, latency, and cost.
• Stay current with AI technologies and best practices across SpaceX programs.
