Job summary

Meta is seeking Security Engineers for the Applied AI Intelligence (AAI) organization. You will blend security engineering with applied research to build AI-powered defenses and scalable AI-native systems.

You will mentor engineers, drive AI-enabled security platforms, and disseminate findings across the security community. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in security engineering, strong Python or Rust skills, and a track record of leading complex security programs at scale.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in CS, cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years hands-on security engineering across detection, threat intel, incident response, cloud security, or adversary simulation.
• Deep attacker TTP knowledge with ability to advance state of the art.
• Proficiency in Python or Rust.
• Experience architecting security systems at scale and influencing others.

Responsibilities

• Identify and solve ambiguous problems within Security/Trust/Safety domains; drive cross-team impact.
• Architect security systems and capabilities standard across teams.
• Drive platform-level decisions for AI-driven security at Meta's scale.
• Lead adversarial research, threat intelligence programs, and AI-augmented detection/investigation capabilities.
• Shape how security expertise translates into scalable AI capabilities; define repeatable methodologies.
• Set and improve quality standards for security engineering practices across teams.
• Manage workflows to achieve scale and automation; enable others.
• Collaborate cross-functionally; influence technical direction beyond the immediate team.
• Break down problems into workstreams; own the most technical parts and mentor others.
