Meta’s Applied Artificial Intelligence (AAI) organization is seeking a Security Engineer to build AI-augmented security capabilities and support applied research in Security, Trust, and Safety. In this role, you will combine security engineering with adversarial research and the development of detection and response to strengthen AI-driven defenses at scale.

Based in New York, NY (onsite), this position is designed for engineers who can tackle ambiguous security problems, shape platform-level

Qualifications

BS/MS in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience.
8+ years hands-on security engineering across detection engineering, threat intelligence, incident response, cloud security, adversary simulation, or related areas.
Proficiency in coding with Python or Rust.
Experience architecting security systems or programs at scale.
Ability to drive ambiguous problem spaces with cross-functional impact.

Responsibilities

Identify and solve ambiguous problems in Security, Trust, or Safety domains across teams.
Architect security systems to set a standard across teams.
Lead AI-driven security solutions and adversarial research efforts at scale.
Define methodologies to make model improvements systematic and scalable.
