Job summary

Meta is seeking a Security Engineer within the Applied AI Intelligence (AAI) organization. You will fuse deep security expertise with frontier AI, building novel AI-driven defenses and integrating security into AI-native systems at scale.

You will conduct adversary research, threat intelligence, detection engineering, and platform security work, shaping security capabilities that advance both Meta and AI research. This role combines hands-on engineering with applied research.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on security engineering experience in one or more domains.
• Extensive knowledge of attacker TTPs and defenses.
• Proficiency in coding with Python, Go, C/C++, or shell scripting.
• Experience building security systems, tools, or capabilities.
• Ability to operate independently on complex security challenges.

Responsibilities

• Apply deep security expertise to identify and solve complex problems requiring multi-step reasoning.
• Build security products and AI-driven capabilities at Meta's scale.
• Design and run adversarial research, threat intelligence analysis, and detection workflows augmented by AI.
• Identify gaps where AI models lack security reasoning and contribute improvements.
• Develop reusable methodologies to advance Meta's security posture and AI system performance.
• Collaborate with researchers to translate security expertise into training signals for models.
• Partner with engineering, product, and research teams to deploy security innovations in production AI systems.
• Drive end-to-end execution of complex security initiatives with independence.
