Job summary

Meta's Applied AI Security team is seeking a Security Engineer to tackle hard, real-world security problems at scale, building AI-powered defenses and prototyping AI-enabled protections. You will blend hands-on security engineering with applied research, leveraging AI tools and expert judgment to push the frontier of AI-driven security.

You will work across detection engineering, threat intelligence, platform security, and adversary analysis, translating security expertise into training signals

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on security engineering experience in one or more domains.
• Extensive knowledge of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• Proficiency in coding with languages such as Python, Go, C/C++, or shell scripting.
• Experience building security systems, tools, or capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently on complex security challenges.

Responsibilities

• Apply deep security domain expertise to identify, scope, and solve complex security problems requiring multi-step reasoning.
• Build security products, tools, and capabilities with AI-driven solutions at scale.
• Design and execute adversarial research, threat intelligence analysis, and detection engineering augmented by AI tools.
• Improve AI model security reasoning through expert signals, evaluation, and feedback.
• Collaborate with model researchers to translate security expertise into training signals.
• Partner with engineering, product, and research teams to implement security innovations in production AI systems.
• Drive end-to-end execution of complex security initiatives with independence.
• Disseminate findings through internal publications and security community contributions.
