Job summary

Echo Neurotechnologies seeks an experienced Applied AI Scientist to apply ML/AI to large time-series datasets and metadata to create encoding/decoding models that interpret brain activity. This role drives scientific discovery and product implementations impacting patients with physical disabilities.

You will build high-performance inference pipelines, develop transformers to convert brain signals into control signals for devices, and collaborate to design data-science platforms while ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Math, Engineering, Data Science, or other relevant quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of combined academic and professional ML experience.
• Experience designing, developing, and deploying ML models in an industry setting with large-scale, distributed ML platforms.
• Experience designing, training, and evaluating transformers.
• Experience working with high-dimensional time-series data, state-space models, or foundation models.
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch.
• Proficiency in using GPUs and GPU software toolkits to accelerate ML pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Model brain data and metadata to obtain insights and implement high-performance inference and translation pipelines.
• Design state-of-the-art transformers and other ML models to decode brain signals into control signals for digital devices.
• Stay current with AI techniques and evaluate their relevance using company datasets.
• Collaborate within a small team to explore, iterate on models, and integrate ML into product applications.
• Maintain versioned, well-documented code, pipelines, and results for reproducibility.
• Contribute to documentation for a Quality Management System related to ML in medical products.
