Echo Neurotechnologies is seeking an experienced Senior ML Engineer to translate time-series data into decoding models that empower people with disabilities to control a computer and communicate. You will work within a small, collaborative team on cutting-edge BCI hardware and AI software solutions.

The role focuses on building robust models, feature engineering, and integrating ML into product pipelines, with a strong emphasis on reproducible code and documentation for medical-grade products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in quantitative field.
• Minimum 5 years of ML experience (academic + industry).
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch (TensorFlow also acceptable).
• Experience using GPUs and GPU toolkits to accelerate ML pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design state-of-the-art ML models translating time-series data into control signals.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Machine-\u2010Learning (ML) Engineer to join our growingteam. The person who fills this role will apply ML principles and practices to large datasetsof time-\u2010series data and associated metadata to create decoding models and discover new

insights, all as part of a larger goal to empower individuals with severe physical disabilitiesto control a computer and communicate effectively with others.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and create state-of-the-art ML models for translating time-\u2010series data into control signals for a computer and for communication


• Perform feature engineering on existing and future data to discover richer representations of the datasets


• Ensure robustness of the decoding models and pipeline for product deployment in real-\u2010world scenarios


• Incorporate existing advanced AI tools (e.g. LLMs) into research workflows


• Assist in designing cloud-\u2010based ML systems and data structures for large-\u2010scale operational pipelines and data-\u2010science platforms


• Working collaboratively within a small team to address ML needs of the products, including assisting in the integration of ML models into product applications


• Working independently to achieve ML milestones in a timely fashion without being micro-\u2010managed


• Follow proper coding practices to create and maintain reproducible, clear, and highly documented code Contribute to documentation for a Quality Management System, as appropriate and relevant to ML implementations that become part of medical products

Ideal Candidate

• Has extensive experience and can demonstrate proficiency in ML applications, particularly those involving time-\u2010series data


• Has worked on projects related to medical or clinical applications


• Is highly motivated to work on fast-\u2010paced projects that will positively impact patient quality of life


• Can communicate clearly and effectively and enjoys working closely as part of a small team

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Math, Engineering, Data Science, or other relevant quantitative fields


• Minimum of 5 years of combined academic and professional ML experience


• Proficiency in Python and either tensorflow or pytorch (pytorch is preferred)


• Proficiency in using GPUs and GPU software toolkits to accelerate ML pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant quantitative field


• Both academic and industry ML experience


• Publication history in ML-\u2010related academic projects


• Experience working with time-\u2010series data from human participants or other physiological time-\u2010series data

Salary

$170,000—$220,000 USD
