Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior AI researcher to lead development of foundation models and applied research initiatives. You will collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, ML engineers, and product managers to translate research into customer-ready AI features.

You will design, train, evaluate, and deploy models using PyTorch, Hugging Face, AWS Ultraclusters, and VectorDBs, and you will own a research agenda driving measurable business impact across products.

Qualifications

• Doctoral or master’s degree with substantial applied AI research experience.
• Hands-on with AI foundation models and open-source tools on cloud platforms.
• Strong foundations in AI methodologies and deep learning.
• Experience building large deep learning models for language, images, events, or graphs.
• Proven track record of research delivering in product-scale contexts.

Responsibilities

• Partner with data scientists, software engineers, ML engineers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products
• Leverage PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, Lightning, VectorDBs, and other technologies to analyze large numeric and textual datasets
• Build AI foundation models through design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
• Conduct applied research to advance AI developments into customer experiences
• Translate complex research and technical work into tangible business goals
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies and apply state-of-the-art methods
• Challenge conventional thinking and collaborate with stakeholders to improve the status quo
• Support talent development for the team and broader organization
• Own and pursue a research agenda, including selecting impactful problems and carrying out long-running projects
