Job summary

Mattel seeks a Quality Engineer, Applied AI Solutions & Enablement in East Aurora, NY to translate expert knowledge into scalable, AI-enabled quality capabilities. You will drive rapid prototyping, governance, and collaboration with GTO, Office of AI, and data teams to scale impactful solutions.

You will shape problem statements, validate outputs, and manage vendor inputs while coordinating with Quality and Safety partners to deliver enterprise-ready capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Product Development, Business Process Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Quality, Product Development, Engineering, Compliance, Operations, Business Analysis, AI enablement, data/analytics, technology delivery, solution consulting, or process transformation.
• Experience partnering with IT, digital, data, platform, architecture, cybersecurity, or enterprise technology teams to move prototypes toward governed, supportable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Frame issues to design practical solution paths and build rapid prototypes that demonstrate value.
• Prototype AI-enabled tools, dashboards, and agentic workflows using approved Mattel tools and data sources.
• Define scalable solution paths, data access needs, and production-readiness criteria with partners.
• Maintain vendor relationships, scoping pilots, evaluating demos, and aligning solutions with business needs.
• Create executive-ready narratives, demos, roadmaps, and business cases to explain problem, prototype, value, and scaling plan.
• Map workflows, decisions, systems, and handoffs across Quality processes to enable AI.
• Translate expert knowledge into AI-ready task context, validation criteria, and human-in-the-loop requirements.
