Job summary

Mitek is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy production-grade AI systems leveraging LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows. You will closely collaborate with engineering, product, data, and business teams to deliver measurable AI solutions that balance quality, latency, and cost.

The role focuses on production-ready AI software, evaluation frameworks, and continuous improvement, with an emphasis on reliability and governance in a data-rich environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience taking AI solutions from prototype to production.
• Experience building LLM-based applications, including RAG, context engineering, and prompt engineering.
• Experience designing and implementing agentic AI systems with multi-step workflows including planning and memory.
• Experience deploying AI applications in cloud environments and operating production AI infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI solutions powered by LLMs, RAG, and agentic AI systems.
• Define evaluation strategies for AI use cases, including success metrics, offline/online evaluation plans, and monitoring.
• Build and improve LLM-based applications using RAG, context engineering, prompt engineering, and multi-step agentic workflows.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design, implement, and operate reliable production AI systems balancing quality, latency, cost, and maintainability.
• Partner with product, engineering, data, and business stakeholders to prioritize AI use cases and success metrics.
• Apply strong software engineering and production practices across AI systems, including testing, observability, and versioning.
• Monitor and troubleshoot AI systems in production, analyze performance, and implement improvements.
