Job summary

Motorola Solutions in Chicago is hiring an Applied AI Engineer I on the Supply Chain team to bridge AI research with real-world logistics. You will develop conversational AI interfaces for data access and contribute to proactive alerting and autonomous agent workflows.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, data scientists, and supply chain operators, building production-ready data pipelines and ML models to optimize routing, forecasting, and inventory decisions. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and their AI/ML services.

Responsibilities

• Conversational AI for data: Build and maintain LLM apps to query ERP, warehouse, and logistics data using natural language.
• Proactive alerting: Expand tools into real-time monitoring that detect anomalies and push actionable alerts.
• Autonomous & semi-autonomous agents: Develop AI workflows that can take independent action with HITL fallbacks.
• Model development & deployment: Design, train, and deploy ML models for supply chain optimization.
• Data pipeline engineering: Write production-grade code to extract, clean, and preprocess large datasets.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with analysts to translate pain points into AI solutions.
