Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Data Engineering & Applied AI Software Engineer II in Plano, TX. You will be a core technical contributor delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, scalable way, working within Asset & Wealth Management.

You will build, enhance, and deliver production-grade data platforms and AI-enabled services, using Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Snowflake, and AWS, while applying responsible AI practices and collaborating with enterprise teams.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience.
Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools.
Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
Frontend: React or Angular with TypeScript.
Backend: Python, Java, or Kotlin with REST or GraphQL.
Data Engineering/Platform: Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Snowflake, and AWS.
Platform engineering: containers, CI/CD, observability, and controlled release practices.
Applied AI with LLMs: Claude Code, Agent, Skills, RAG, embeddings, prompt or configuration management, evaluation and guardrails, and agent tool or function calling

Responsibilities

Executes standard software solution, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance.
Leverages AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, with peer review and testing validation.
Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems.
Hands-on design and development of agentic production data platform with full stack ownership.
Develop AI skills, agents, MCP server to deliver business value.
Applies SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to improve automation value.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems of basic complexity.
Gathers and analyzes large data sets to identify problems and support secure, stable development.
Learns and applies system processes and skills for secure, stable code and systems.
